Your new role
As Research Manager, you will spearhead shrimp disease challenge trials, ensuring scientific integrity and operational excellence. You’ll develop and refine SOPs, oversee biosecurity and sampling protocols, and analyse trial data to support product innovation. Working closely with genetics, nutrition, and QA teams, you’ll play a key role in aligning research outcomes with commercial goals. This position also involves supervising junior staff, maintaining validated protocols, and preparing technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
  • PhD or MSc in Aquatic Animal Health, Pathobiology, Aquaculture, or related fields
  • Proven experience in shrimp disease challenge trials (e.g., EHP, EMS, Vibrio)
  • Skilled in diagnostics: PCR, microscopy, histology
  • Strong background in SOP development, QA/QC, and structured reporting
  • Proficient in statistical analysis software
  • Comfortable working in lab and hatchery environments with live animals
  • Certifications in aquatic diagnostics or biosecurity are a plus
