Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Thailand Tax Specialist to join our tax team. This role involves overseeing tax reporting for both direct and indirect taxes, ensuring full compliance with Thai tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in Thailand’s tax laws, particularly in Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Withholding Tax (WHT).
Key Responsibilities
- Support data extraction, validation, and processing for CIT, VAT, and WHT return submissions.
- Prepare and file CIT, Specific Business Tax, VAT, and WHT returns accurately and on time, in accordance with Thai tax laws.
- Ensure correct deduction and remittance of WHT on vendor payments to the Thai Revenue Department.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate tax records and documentation to meet compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparing and managing transfer pricing documentation in line with Thai regulations.
- Help manage tax audits and respond to enquiries from the Thai Revenue Department.
- Coordinate the collection of transactional data and ensure it meets tax reporting standards.
- Provide expert tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on business transactions and contractual matters.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system to monitor timely tax return submissions.
- Reconcile VAT and WHT filings with the profit and loss statement.
- Stay updated on changes in Thai tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of Thai tax regulations and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in both Thai and English, written and spoken.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
