Our client is a globally renowned retail brand. Seeking an Internal Control to join their finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of internal processes, identifying financial and operational risks, and enhancing internal control frameworks across business functions.
Your new role
As an Internal Control, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust internal control framework tailored to both global standards and local business needs.
- Perform regular internal control reviews at store and office levels, including ad hoc assignments.
- Conduct testing on internal control self-assessment questionnaires.
- Conduct monthly data analytics on high-risk transactions and compliance areas to ensure integrity and transparency.
- Ensuring clear communication and adoption of regional procedures across functions.
- Develop and implement local procedures aligned with global/internal guidelines.
- Support operational teams in adapting and applying procedures within the local business context.
- Deliver training sessions for operational teams and new joiners.
- Collaborate actively with internal and external auditors.
- Monitor and assess compliance risks within a multicultural operating environment.
- Track audit recommendations and ensure timely resolution of identified risks and control gaps.
- Maintain and follow up on tools and checklists to evaluate control effectiveness.
- Participate in physical inventory counts to verify adherence to internal control policies.
What you'll need to succeed
- At least 5 years of experience in internal control, audit, or compliance within a multinational organisation or Big 4 accounting firm.
- CIA or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management and control design.
- Proficiency in leveraging systems and technology to improve control effectiveness and efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and provide improvement recommendations.
- Experience using data analytics to drive insights and optimise control processes.
- Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Fluent in English.
