A well-known FMCG company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Assistant Manager in Pet Food to join the team that is located in Chachoengsao. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the pet food industry, with a strong background in research and development. The role involves assisting the R&D Manager in leading and managing projects, conducting research, developing new products, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.


Your new role

  • Assist the R&D Manager in planning, organising, and executing research and development projects for pet food products.
  • Conduct research on market trends, consumer preferences, and industry innovations to identify new product opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and quality assurance, to develop and launch new products.
  • Lead formulation development activities, including ingredient sourcing, testing, and optimisation to meet nutritional standards and product specifications.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer testing to gather feedback and make data-driven decisions for product improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and food safety protocols throughout the product development process.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and train junior R&D team members, providing guidance on technical skills, best practices, and industry knowledge.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, research advancements, and competitive landscape to drive innovation and continuous improvement.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Animal Science, or related field; an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in research and development roles within the pet food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of pet nutrition, ingredient functionality, formulation principles, and food processing technologies.
  • Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards for pet food products.
  • Leadership qualities with a track record of mentoring and developing talent within a team environment.
