Your new role
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a secure working environment in logistics, with a focus on best practices from hard manufacturing, construction, and crane operations.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety practices seamlessly into daily operations.
- Provide training and education programs to promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on industry safety standards, regulations, and emerging trends.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your role, you would need to:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience as a Safety Manager in logistics, heavy construction or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, hazard recognition, and risk management.
- Experience working in hard manufacturing, construction, or crane operations is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or equivalent are a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
